An assignment asked, "What is your greatest fear?" This was my answer...
I have many fears, from the spiders that walk on their eight hairy legs to being in the dark alone; from hearing a howling sound at night to being killed by an unknown assailant. My greatest fear, however, is something no one can escape. It is being forgotten. My classmates will forget what I looked like, my old friends will forget my name, but someday, long after I have died, no one will remember me. It scares me to think that my whole life, no matter how long I live, will vanish, become an empty void in the large amount of information that the world includes. It is inevitable, but still keeps me up at night.
